Tehreek-i-Insaaf kay Mor Pankh
--- in reply to Irfan Siddiqi's WOH MOR PANKH KAHAN HAIN?

Yesterday I read a column by Irfan Siddiqi, entitled "Woh Mor Pankh Kahan hain?". The columnist has presented a long list of "similarities" between PTI and other parties, including PML-N, and asked about the differences between them. First, thank God, there is no need to say what ailments are found in the Noon league. PTI might not accept all of these problems, yet Irfan Siddiqi --- probably carried a bit too far along with the emotion --- did not read the implications of his own words, and nicely owned all these evils. Now let us come to the differences: "PTI aur Noon League main farq kaya hai?"

A difference between PTI and PML-N is that the PTI did not back out and deceive its partners in the APDM agreement 2007, and the boycott of 2008 elections. It was Nawaz Sharif who had agreed to stand by with other parties, e.g., PTI and JI, but then he quietly left them and joined the elections.

Secondly, PTI did not support Zardari in getting elected as the president. PML-N supported him and was a major partner in the government for the firs two years. Even later they did not present any effective opposition to any important issues of public welfare and interest.

Another difference is that Imran Khan does not have any NAB cases against himself, neither has any money-laundering charges, like Sharif and Zardari have. Imran does not have any assets or businesses outside Pakistan, but the Sharifs are pretty self-sufficient outside Pakistan, as they proved in the exile for 8 years.

Yet another: PTI has not been the one to receive money from Mehran Bank owners or the army generals. The decision on Asghar Khan case was not against Imran Khan, or was it?

It is not PTI but someone else who attacked the Supreme Court and showed its chief justice the way home.

Name one consistent voice against all army operations since Musharraf started them back in 2004? Where were Sharifs and Zaradri? Except PTI, which other party has dared hold intra-party elections in this country?

Which politician from the current lot had made any name in social service before coming to politics? No one even knew the names of Sharifs or Zardari before. On the other hand, Imran was a celebrity and loved by the nation since long before he entered politics.

The list is quite long, but we take one last item to sum it up: the Wiki Leaks. Except Imran Khan, which other personality from Pakistan comes out as respectable and 'clean' as they all sound to general public? You know about Nawaz and Zardari quite a bit.
